The things she says...

I don't want to forget all the cute and funny things that Brooklyn says so I am documenting them here... (in hopes that one day I will publish this blog into a book of course)

She told me, "Momma, you look like a princess!"
I found this extremely funny because it was a day that I got up showered and threw some sweats on. I didn't do my hair or make up or much of anything else. She is so sweet!

She has been calling cantaloupe her "froot loops."
One morning I woke up with her and asked what she wanted for breakfast, she told me froot loops, so I poured her a bowl of cereal. When I sat it down in front of her at the table she scowled at me and said "that's not froot loops!" She took me over to the fridge and pulled out the cantaloupe and told me "this is froot loops." Silly girl.

She has also been quite the poop scout. We have had an extra doggy here for a little while and so whenever we go out back the first thing she does is point out all the poop so I can pick it up. I know it's kind of a gross thing to point out but I think it's funny. She says to me on one afternoon, "I am gonna have a cow, look at all this poop!"

She has also started to realize that Grandma's house is also Jade's house. So when she wants to play she will tell me, "I want to go to Jade-o's house today." I love that she uses Jade-o and Jaders, because those are my nick names for Jade.

The Bump has arrived...

It's official, the baby bump is visible! This week was the first week that everyone else could really tell that I am pregnant. It was so funny to hear different things like "wow, you are already showing" or "Oh, you look pregnant" or "You're pregnant?" It's funny how people say things with out thinking and then the look on their face afterwards that says "I want to shove my foot in my moiuth right now." Anyhow, I am looking and fe
eling pregnant! This week has been especially fun for everyone around me (family). This little girl is a kicker and they have been able to feel her. So far she has kicked for Jamie the most, but maybe that's just because she and I had a quite moment and she was very patient. Yesterday morning as Zach and I laid in bed she started kicking so I rolled over and put my belly in his back and he actually could feel it. Very cool. At times I can even see my belly move. This is probably the best part of the pregnancy.

On another note I am starting to feel more energetic at times and have even been able to get by with out naps on my days off (Zach still thinks it's weird that I need extra sleep just because I'm pregnant). I have been getting a lot of house work done and it's felt nice to feel productive again. I have decided that every day I have off I am going to do one thing, cleaning wise, that I wouldn't do on a normal cleaning day. This past week I got the coat closet cleaned up, the pantry organized, went through baby clothes, and had one slacker day. I have also, however, managed to stay on top of my laundry!!!!!

One of these days here soon I will post a picture of the baby bump for you all to enjoy!

Hooray for Wednesday it will mark week 24!

She's too cute...

She is what we call a "silly goose."

Happy Birthday to me!

It's official I'm 23! Funny how I forget how old I am, I guess it's because it's not important until I get into my 70's, right? I had a fabulous birthday. Zach was able to get the day off and it was so nice. We didn't really plan anything we just did what we wanted when we wanted. We started the day off in Ogden shopping, came home and played outside, and ended the day roasting hot dogs over the fire and eating birthday cake (the best kind ever, chocolate with pudding and whip cream instead of frosting).

We are best friends, let's hope she still thinks that in a few years.

This is what she calls baseball. It's a good game, however I can't aim and I hit her in the tummy and she said "owie, mom you hit my baby sister!" Lol, funny how she thinks she has a baby in her tummy too.

This is my wonderful hubby. We have to take down the awning because it broke this winter with all the snow on top of it. He was working on it while Brooklyn and I enjoyed the sun.

This picture makes me laugh. When we were shopping she HAD to have a "brella." We couldn't find a cheap kid one, of course, so we had to buy her a big one.

Another "Brella" picture.

The three (or shall I say four) of us together.

Blowing out the candles and making my wish!

Opening presents, with the assistance of my favorite 2 year old. Zach got me a new camera (yay), did you notice the difference in the quality of pictures?

She cracks me up...

Lat night on our way home Brooklyn broke out into tears. When I asked her what was wrong she said

"Kiwi is going to crack like an egg!"

and she kept on crying. I felt so bad and reassured her that Kiwi would be fine and that she was at home waiting for us to get there to let her out to go potty. She stopped crying for a minute and then about a mile later she was crying again. This time her response was

"Daddy and Jaders are going to crack too!"

She continued to sab til we got home and she saw Kiwi.

Oh boy, she is funny. I think she may have gotten the "cracking" part from all the egg stuff that has been going on with Easter. What a girl!

Easter 2010...

That's right, the Easter bunny found Brooklyn!
She got a little spoiled from mom and dad too! It's always been tradition for the Easter bunny to bring my family new swimming suits for Easter and this year Zach and I decided to get Brooklyn a "Sunday" outfit as well. I think her favorite part was her shoes though (thanks to auntie Rach for teaching her all about shoes). I had to work, one of the least favorite parts of working in health care, so I woke every one up before heading out the door.

Pulling her out of bed, she does have a small smile on her face.

Still trying to wake up a little.

Excited to find that the eggs had candy in them.

Her and Daddy :)

Happy Easter to all!!

Easter Eggs 2010...

The night before Easter we colored Easter eggs!
I started off boiling an 18 pack, ended with 15 eggs to color, and Brooklyn only broke one while we were coloring them. We had this really cool egg coloring thing that we bought last year and never used so we pulled it out this year and put it to good use. I thought it would be a huge mess but it was way less messy than the traditional dyes that I have used in the past. You just put the egg in the bowl thing, added a few drops of dye, put the lid on, push the button and viola... colored eggs! It was super fun! The pictures really aren't in any special order, enjoy!

P.S. sorry about the crappy pictures, my camera totally sucks and i really need a new one... donations any one?

The perfect family photo

The real family photo... Me posing, Zach being a dork, and Brooklyn worried about being dirty!

The cheesy family photo :)

This was before we started coloring, the anticipation was really getting to her.

The finished products, pretty cool looking huh?

Official Ultrasound...

Just some interesting facts about our "Target Ultrasound" that we had today...

  • Yes, it's still a girl ;)
  • She weighs approximately 12 oz
  • We got to "see" all 4 chambers of her heart
  • The technician said that her brain looks wonderful and her head is nice and round
  • She had an air bubble in her tummy (the technician said that means she must be swallowing the amniotic fluid. According to my parent magazine this is a good thing because it helps to start developing their digestive tract.)
  • She is measuring a little bit small which means my due date might get pushed back a week
  • We got to see her tiny little feet and hands
  • She likes to keep her hands by her face (In most of the 3D pics her hand was flat on her forehead)
  • I think she looks a lot like Brooklyn so far!
It was a really good visit this time. It was so cool to see all the things we saw and get pictures of it all. It;s amazing how far along technology has come. I am very thankful that every thing checked out to be okay, I am a worrier. Can't wait until she's here!

The little things...

Just a few things that happened yesterday that I think are cute...

We got to babysit my niece Esi yesterday and she got to our house before we usually get up. Esi doesn't like it when her mom leaves so she was crying and a few seconds later Brooklyn comes walking out with a scowl on her face, "Esi woked me up mom!" It was so matter of fact and blunt I couldn't help but laugh.

Later in the day she would walk around saying "Esi is my favorite cousin!"

Last night she wanted a Jolly Rancher and she said to me "Mom, I need a jelly bean rancher."

I got her in the tub and even managed to wash her hair (this is a huge deal at our house). When I got her out I bribed her with a 'jelly bean rancher' so that I could braid her hair. Then I decided I would try and bath while she watched cartoons. I got the water in the tub and stepped in right when she came through the bathroom door. "Mama I want to get in with you." I told her no because she just had a bath, so what does she do? She starts undressing. Needles to say my relaxing bath turned into a short bath turned over to my two year old. Then while I was getting dressed she decided she wanted to wash her hair again, why I don't know becasue she absolutely hates it. I told her no again and continued to get dressed. When I turned back around she was dumping water on her head!!! So much for the braids! She managed to take a few of the elastics out. Then when I asked her why she did it she smiled and said, "because I wanted to." What a stinker.

I just adore her!
