A few random things that make this mommy smile...

*Brooklyn singing to Tessa to "help her sleep"

*Tessa smiling randomly

*Gunner sleeping in the shade outside

*Zach giving us all kisses before he heads to work

*The question "Why?" repeated so many times in one conversation I wonder if she even knows why she is asking "Why?"

*Healthy snacks (grapes and cheese)

*Almost empty laundry room by 3 in the afternoon

*Kiwi snoring in the front room chair, even though she knows she shouldn't be in there

*Hearing from friends that I very rarely see

*The new smelly tart in the kitchen warmer

*Crisp fall like weather

Just born...

The flowers that Zach gave me after Tessa was born. He is such a sweetie!

Day One at the Hospital...

August 11th, 2010

The day Tessa was born. Brooklyn came down to meet her for the first time and was extremely hesitant. I don't know if the hospital setting scared her or if she was just freaked out by the baby but she warmed up enough to hold Tessa for a few seconds and then wanted to leave. Boky did much better the next day though.

Day Two at the Hospital...

This was the day after Tessa was born. Brooklyn had finally warmed up to the idea of having a baby sister. She actually wanted to hold and love her. She was so cute!

The weird parents and the sweet baby ;)

Boky loved holding Tessa

Being her cheesy little self :)

She asked to hold Tessa

She decided she could give me loves this day.

One of the CNA's made this hat for Tessa, It was so cute on her little head.

Bringing Tessa Home...

We got to bring Tessa home from the hospital on August 13th, 2010 at about 8am.

Mom Times TWO in TWO days...

Not quite sure how to feel tonight as I lay here next to my little Brooklyn and we watch cartoons and just relax. Soon there will be three of us sitting here (trying to) watching cartoons and cuddling. Am I going to be sufficient enough to be a mom of two? How will I handle it when they both need me right that minute? Will I be patient enough? Will they love each other? Will Brooklyn be mad at me for bringing home a new baby?

So many questions.

Don't get me wrong, I am VERY excited to meet my new little one, just nervous about all the unknowns. I can't wait to see her little face, hold her close to me, dress her, bathe her, wake up and have one on one mommy time at odd hours in the night.

Wish us luck as we welcome our newest addition

TESSA JAMES GROVE

in two days!!

Zach's Birthday

Better late than never, right? Zach turned 23 on the 24th of July. It was a different kind of birthday for us, very low key. We didn't do much but hang out together. It was a nice day. He didn't want a cake and opted for apple pie instead, totally fine with me and Brooklyn :)

Thanks to everyone who wished him a happy Birthday and to both of our parents for making/taking us to dinner.

hUh?!?!

Doesn't this remind you of the big headed dog doll things? He is so funny.

Swimming with Gunner...

As I have mentioned before Gunner loves the water. Zach has taken him down to the river several times but the funnest thing for me to watch is him and Brooklyn in her pool in the back yard. He really could be a fish if he didn't have fur and four legs. Check out some of the fun pictures...

Don't mind my legs in this picture... Zach was spraying the squirt bottle and Gunner would open his mouth to get a drink.

Heading for the pool.

In the pool causing havoc...

My boky with the hose. She loves watering the grass.

Carrots....

We will definitely be trying carrots in our garden again next year. They have been fun and successful. Not sure if you can see it but there is a pea on the top right of the cutting board too. We had a bunch earlier but I didn't take any pictures of them, they were delicious! Next year I will be sure to buy the right kind though, this year I planted a weird kind, but hey, it's my first garden on my own!! We still have some carrots growing, I'll post more pictures if they turn out bigger than these ones.
