Smashed Cheese Cake...

Read the paragraph below and see if you can guess who's plate is who's... now that I look it might be obvious without reading...oh well, enjoy!

Yesterday we spent the entire together as a family and it was so nice and so needed. We have been trying to fun things and get away from the TV, Video Games, and usual boring things. So we decided to spend the day getting household stuff done like vacuuming, dishes, yard work, etc so that we could enjoy our evening. Oh and we went on a walk with Gunner to help him calm down too! When evening time came we all made dinner together, hamburgers and green salads, then we ate dessert, CHEESECAKE! We were goofing off (like usual) and Zach poked his finger in my cheesecake so I put a finger print in each peice of his. Then he mashed mine with his whole hand. so in return I did the same thing. Then we sat down and ate it with Boky. She loved it, which I find surprising because I just barely learned to love the taste and she is way young. It was a successful dinner/dessert. When we were cleaning up Zach and I got in a little disagreement so I grabbed the remainder of his cheesecake on his plate and 'kindly' smashed it in his face, so funny, until he wiped his face on me :(
It was such a fun night we really needed to spend time together.
Love my family :O)

How to eat breakfast for dinner...

1. Make french toast
2. Cut into strips with pizza cutter
3. Put on plate with a pool of syrup
4. Dip strips in syrup and eat!

If that doesn't work....
lick the syrup, no french toast necessary

Just be sure to have milk to wash it down with!

January Catch Up...

SO I have been one slacker of a blogger lately and decided I need to start catching up, so here is a little bit about what all happened in January.

Most of you know we announced that we are having another baby that is due in August. It was so exciting but scary to find out we were pregnant. I had a miscarriage this last year and I was so scared that it was going to happen again. The more nauseated I was the more sure I was that this baby was for real. I think after having had the miscarriage I was still really nervous until we were able to go to the doctor and find out that everything really was ok. We have decided to go down to Ogden to Dr. Housel and we will most likely be delivering at McKay Dee. I love his office but the wait times could become a problem. It was so cool to have an ultrasound done on our first visit and to be able to hear the babies heart beat (168 bpm). His office even gives you a DVD that you take each visit and they put the ultrasounds on it! Cool, huh?

I started a new shift at work this month. I'm still working 12 hour shifts but instead of being gone until midnight each night, I leave work at 9pm. It's been good to be able to get to bed a little bit earlier but Brooklyn is still having a hard time adjusting. She wants to wait up for her daddy (which has been anywhere from midnight to 3am, 7 days a week!) and then she wants to sleep in until noon. Oh well I guess, at least for now. I love watching her sleep, especially when she has crazy hair and is drooling everywhere :O)

Brooklyn has also started to love dressing up. That's the first thing she wants to do when she gets up and says, "mom can I get all dressed up?" It's so cute. She has particularly enjoyed her tutu that she got from her Aunt Jamie for her birthday, and weirdly her bike helmet! At least she is being safe?

Up until recently Brooklyn has been such a good eater. She would try anything at any time. This month it seems as if she has started to pick and choose what she thinks looks good. She will still eat any kind of pasta (sans the sauce). She loves fruit, except pears, "mommy I don't want pears, I want apple." She has also become quite fond of oreos, but mostly just the insides.

Well she has been saying this for a while but I'm just getting around to sharing it...

"TIWI is my best frend"

She loves that dog more than anyone else and lets us know on a daily basis. This partiular night she was hiding under the bed with Kiwi. It was a little scary becasue there isn't much room under our bed but she made it work. Kiwi doesn't alsways love Brooklyn but she tolerates her well these days. (you can see Kiwi in the right of the pic)

Our house is slowly coming together. This month our project has been getting the front room put together. We started painting and that's about as far as we've gotten...I'll get pictures on here when it's finished.

Over all January has been a good month...let's hope that it continues through the year!!!

This girl is SO funny! She is in love with peas. She will eat them frozen, cooked, or right out of the fridge. I am so glad that she is willing to try different foods and even more glad that she likes to (for the most part) eat healthy foods.

P.S. Yes she is wearing leopard print! I wanted her to try on her costume for Halloween and after we got it on she wouldn't take it off! So consider this a sneak peak of what to expect on Halloween!

P.S.S. Don't you think I need a new camera? I swear it is taking crappier and crappier pictures!! GRRR....

~Apples~

She loves APPLES!! As you can tell in the pictures she loves to eat right through them and not even worry about the core. She doesn't like the skin much though. She will take bites of the skin and pull them out of her mouth and hand them to who ever is the closest. If no one is around she'll make a pile on the table. It's funny.

Happy 3rd Anniversary...

This year we had a different kind of anniversary, we spent it as a family instead of as a couple (well most of it anyways). Zach managed to get the day off from work and so we planned to head south.

First we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was so cool! There were tons of little kids there but over all I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Brooklyn loved the fish and loved watching all the little kids that were there too. They had a few different things that I thought were interesting, they have a 'pool' that has sting rays that you can touch if you want to, they have a little play area thing that the kids can crawl through but it has fish tanks built into it, they had a gift shop, and the halls were nice and wide to accommodate strollers. It is a very kid friendly place.

.
After we visited the aquarium we visited Zach's family for a while then they watched Boky while we went to my favorite restaraunt...

Joe's Crab Shack!! It was a very good meal! I got the crab daddy feast and Zach got the Chesapeake steam pot. I even wore my bib :} Then after we got done eating we went shopping and got a few Easter things. It was a good night.

Thanks to everyone who called, texted, or sent a card! Glad you were thinking of us!

Apricot

We have loved all the produce this summer and so has Brooklyn.
On this particular day we had been sitting outside eating peas out of the garden and then dad (or I guess it would be Grandpa) brought home some apricots. I wasn't going to let her have any then i thought I would let her try a piece of one. She liked it so much she grabbed one that was sitting on the blanket and started to go at it. I didn't think she would break through the skin but she did and she was loving it.

She wanted it so bad she just kept trying to bite into it...

Look at me eating my apricot!

Do you see the chunk of apricot that is missing? It's in her tummy!!

Peas and Beans

FOOD!!!

Brooklyn started eating actual baby food last week and I just haven't had time to blog it hence this late post....

Last Tuesday we started with green beans and she loved them. She was definitely ready for food. This week we are trying peas and she doesn't like them as well. It kind of surprised me because the peas are sweeter than the beans. Any ways she loves to eat them with cereal or with out. I almost think that we should have started eating solids sooner because she just chows down. Oh and if she isn't done eating you know because she throws a huge tantrum. I think she will be one of those kids who arches their back when they throw a fit. I'm a little scared.

She was so happy tonight after her dinner that I just let her stay in the high chair (that we got at kings!) for a little bit. She liked that I let her touch, actually play, with her spoon. She usually tries to grab it when I'm feeding her and then she smears the food every where. I think you can see in the pictures how messy she got tonight, she isn't usually that bad.

Apple Slice

Her first time 'eating' an apple. I was eating an apple slice and she kept reaching for it so I gave in. She absolutely loved it. I think it was so cold that it probably felt like her teething ring we give her. She gummed it for quite a while then I took it away because she was making a slobbery mess. It was funny to watch her eyes when I first let her have it, I think she was surprised that I gave in and let her have it.
Look at the front of her shirt, you can tell how slobbery she got!
