This Week...

So I have been a slacker of a blogger lately so I have made a goal, and I'm challenging you to do it too...
One blogger post per week, with at least one picture.
Does that sound reasonable? I think so, so get to it people!
This past week was kind of a blur for me, to be honest I can't even remember what days I worked and what ones I was home. I do remember that I spent one ENTIRE day at home getting stuff done and it still didn't seem adequate.
Yesterday was such a nice day that we spent some of it in the back yard cleaning up dog poo and picking up garbage and gross plants. We didn't get everything we set out to do done, but we got a start. After we were done in the back yard Brooklyn wanted to ride her bike (yes she can now pedal thanks to Grandpa James for teaching her that one) so we decided to take her around the block. We made it three quarters around the block and she was done and wanted to be carried. Zach said it reminded him of when Kiwi was a baby and I would take her on walks and if she got to tired I would just carry her. Anyways, Zach carried the bike home and I carried Boky. It was nice to have a day off that we were all home, it doesn't happen very often anymore.
Silly little Brooklyn didn't want to wear her pants this day. I asked her to put them on and she put them on her head! She looks like a bunny!

Brooklyn is 15 months old now and here are a few things she has been doing lately...

1- She finally got one of her top front teeth. It's the one on the right and she has been so drooley and so miserable trying to get the other one in. I think that it's starting affect her appetite. She hasn't been eating much, but she is downing the fluids.

2- She has figured out how to run away from us after tub time so she can stay naked, and I don't mind. I love seeing her little butt running down the hall. Today (picture to the left) I was getting ready to put her diaper on and she ran away and came back with her purse and her bracelets. She loves being in the nude!

3- She had a routine check up and we found that she has an ear infection in her right ear. So now we get to start another round of antibiotics. I hate it. She is very good at taking medicine but I hate remembering it 3 times a day for 10 days. Poor kid!!

4- She graduated to a big car seat. After her appointment today I feel a lot better about it because she really does weigh over 20 pounds (20.34). She is 31 inches tall and her head (I think) was about 42 centimeters around. She's getting big!!

5- She has been jumping out of her crib!! She has only done it like 2 or 3 times but it's a heart stopper. The first time she did it we had laid her down for bed after she was so tired she would scream about everything and we heard a bug thump... I credited it to our new noisy neighbors but decided that I should check on her because it had been 15 minutes of crying. I walked in and there she sat on her bedroom floor just staring at me! I picked her up and almost started to cry, knowing that the crib will be going away soon.

6- Her hair has grown long enough to pull it all up into two piggy tails. A few strands fall out, but it looks very cute, and very grown up on her.

Icky Ears...

So it's official, Boky has another ear infection!!! Both ears once again. They put her on a three day antibiotic and if this doesn't work we'll probably go see an ENT for tubes. This time has been the worst yet. She has had fevers, boogy nose/face, drooling, and VERY grouchy. We've got the humidifier going with some liquid vick's and that seems to help a ton at night. We also put a blanket under the mattress of the crib which seems to help a bit. I am hoping that by the time she ends her antibiotic tomorrow she will start feeling and acting like her normal self!

Oh one more thing...
Brooklyn turns 1 on the 7th of next month. We will be having two parties, one in Tremonton on that Friday (November 7th) and then one that following Saturday (November 8). Please RSVP. I don't have times yet but the planning is under way ;) either email me or comment on this post if you will be coming or not for cake and ice cream, THANKS!!

Slacker

Yep that's me, I'm a slacker. It's been almost a month since the zoo and I haven't got any pictures on here of it!!!! I guess my issue is that Zach took so many pictures I have to go through and pick ones out and that just adds time! Oh well. One day I'll get them on here.
So Brooklyn has another ear infection!! She had one 2 weeks ago and we got an anti biotic that was only a 3 day thing (it's supposed to have a longer half life than the regular one) but yesterday I noticed she was tugging on her ears. I took her back and sure enough another ear infection! This time we opted for the shot of Rocephin and are hoping that clears this up. Her little leg is sore but it's worth it because it works a lot faster. Poor Kid!! I felt bad when they gave it to her, the nurse said it's a really thick shot and so she will be sore for a few days.
On a happier note... I thought my CNA class went until the 17th but I guess I'm done September 10th! the bad thing is that I have a ton of studying to do to be ready for the final test and I have to hurry and squish in some clinicals :( I am already working full time and going to school 2 nights a week now I have to find 24 hours to do clinicals in the next two weeks... my life is insane.
Oh boy! I better go clean while Brooklyn is napping then it's off to work! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

My Birthday

So I tried to get some blogging done last night and this morning but Brooklyn (and the dumb computer) wouldn't let me. I just wanted to do a little update on everything but I guess it will be verbal instead of visual.

1- My Birthday: It started off as a slow day but picked up in the evening. Zach took me to dinner at Cafe Sabor (thanks mom and dad for the gift card). It was SO good. It's mexican food but it wasn't so spicy that I couldn't eat it like most places are. After dinner we debated on going home (it was snowing!) or going shopping. We decided to go to a few stores then head home. He bought me a really cute CTR ring and some scrubs so that I have some clothes to wear to work. Then we headed back to get Brooklyn (she was at my mom's) and SUPRISE Mark and Tammy came to celebrate my birthday (they got balloons and a bunch of scrapbooking stuff for me as well). Then we called Pam and Jimmy and we had cake (my favorite: chocolate with pudding and whip cream instead of frosting...thanks to my mom again) and ice cream.

2- Brooklyn's Ears: We finished the anti biotic that the NP gave her and she was still acting like she didn't feel good and pulling on her ear so I took her back in (love the autoliv clinic) and sure enough it didn't work for her left ear. We started another antibiotic that will be only 5 days and he said if she isn't improving by monday to call him and we would discuss options. I feel so bad for her she has been nothing but fussy. I hope that this isn't the beginning of a long battle of ear infections.

3- Couches: We got "new" couches!!! Thanks to Sarah and John for giving us their slightly used couches. They are a light green color and VERY soft. I was so happy to get rid of our ugly orange misfit couch. I didn't however like taking the orange couch to the dump, it was stinky and gross and a very long drive. Hhowever, the way there and back was good for me and Zach because we got to talk, something we don't do very often anymore.

I think that is all I have to update on right now I'll try and get some pictures up if the computer will cooperate and Brooklyn will either take a nap or play.
