The Things She Says...

"I'm gonna tell on you!" (Because I was doing her hair and Zach wouldn't "rescue" her)

"Who you gonna tell?"

"My OTHER parents, they are nice!"

I am sure there are days when she wishes she had a second set of parent's. Funny and Sad all at once.

Vegetarian...

We are sad to say that our garden is done growing. THe weather kind of knocked it out. We did have a pretty good garden though, considering it was our first one ever.

We had planted some cucumbers and only got one, or so we thought. Today when I let Gunner out I noticed he was chewing on a vegetable. I knew it couldn't be a zuchinni because I had picked them all earlier in the week. I went out and he had this HUGE cucumber. We didn't even know it was there! Thanks to our vegetarian dog though we weren't able to eat this one, he bit a huge chunk out of it and made tons of puncture holes.

I just had to share. I put Tessa's binki by it (because it was the only thing with in reach) so you can compare it and tell how big it is.

Reading...

I don't know if I am just really tired (because Tessa has not been sleeping) or if Brooklyn is truely getting funnier by the minute but I had to share...

We were reading books tonight and she had some of the funniest comments.

This book is called "Wild Animals." It's a touch and feel book and has 5 different animals in it. When we got to this page she said, "Mom, I am scared of snakes!" She had her eyes covered and then all of a sudden she uncovers them and says "but Dad will help me chop of their heads. I'm not scared anymore."

This book is called "Itsy Bitsy Spider." It's a cute book but she lost interest in it because the pictures aren't all that complex. When we got to this page however she piped up and said "He has the crazy eyes Mom."

This book is called "How Do I Love You?" On this page she was all excited about the moon. She loves the moon and calls it "my moon" when we see it at night.

First thing she asked on this page was "why does he have a flower on his pee pee?" I didn't know what to say so I moved on to the next page.

She was upset on this page because the baby ruined the slippers and...

when we got to this page she said something like "He is just going to ruin that hat Mom, they should take it away."

This was the last book we read and she told me "That puppy looks like Heidi." Heidi is Great-Grandma Pam and Great Grandpa Jimmy's dog who we recently dog sat.

Blessing Day...

Tessa was blessed on October 10th, 2010 in the Elwood first ward by her Great Grandpa Jimmy. She shared her special day with her cousin Elliot Nicholas who was also blessed in the Elwood first ward but by his Great Uncle Jon. It was a very special day. I didn't get very many pictures due to the high stress/anxiety with everyone there but we do appreciate all of you who were able to be there and those of you who sent your love even though you couldn't be there.

The best family picture that we got that day.

Isn't she a sweetie!

A Little Annoyed...

I don't usually let things get to me but today things came at me all at once. I feel like I need to vent...publicly, so here it goes....

Why is it that just because I'm young people don't trust me or my judgment? I know that I am only 23 and that I haven't had a ton of life experience but I feel like I am very mature for my age. I grew up fast so maybe I do have as much life experience as someone who is older than me, you don't know. I may not ask for help, but that's because I would hate to inconvenience anyone at any time. Why do you think I am so crazy? Maybe I come accros a little stern, that's because I want you to know I am serious. Maybe sometimes I am a little more emotional than need be, that's because you have driven me mad by not accepting all my efforts!

I may not have been to 4 years of college, vacationed in all 50 states, or left the country, but I still know things. I am more than the average 23 year old. I have been married almost 5 years, which means I have ran a household for 5 years.I have been raising children, maybe not like wonder mom, but they aren't complete monsters. I have been working for 7 years, and I've never been "let go." I've been asked to stay employed and continue working because I'm a hard worker, even by big companies that have tons of employees/applicants. I have been recognized and praised by your superiors.

I guess what I am saying is give me credit where credit is due. I've sacrificed to get where I am, and I'm not going anywhere. I may be young in age but that does not make me "young and dumb." I will stick it out until I have your full respect, and I will show you respect even when you treat me badly. I am not looking for a friendship or a long term relationship, I simply want you to acknowledge me as an adult because I am not a child anymore.

Watch out world, I will succeed!!!!

P.S. Just because I am venting does not mean I need a special phone call, a text, or a billion questions.

Pets...

Brooklyn has recently started asking for pets we have between everything from horses to fishes. Her last request was a sheep and it went a lot like this...

Boky: "Mom, I want a sheep pet"
Me: "Sheep are too big and don't make good pets"
Boky: "But mom, I can make it small."
Me: "How can you make it small"
Boky: "I will feed it small food and small water!"

Cake Cookies

This one I tried to make by memory but I got it from my Aunt Stef. (So Stef if this is wrong let me know.)

1 box cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients together. Use spoons to make blobs on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.

Salsa Chicken

One of my favorites to make because it's effortless.

4 frozen chicken Breasts
1 bottle salsa
1/2ish cup water
*1 can black beans, rinsed
*One can corn undrained (if you do this don't add the 1/2 cup water)

* These ingredients are optional

Put everything in the crockpot on medium heat for about 4 hours. Stir every now and then.
Serve over rice or shred chicken and serve in tortillas.

Things She Says...

Boky: "Mom, girls buy more stuff because they have money."
Me: "Where do they get all their money?"
Boky: "From my dad."

Where she learned this, I have no idea!

Cousins...

These are the kind of pictures you get when you are dealing with 2 two year olds, a 7 week old, and a 4 week old....

Elliot is long and skinny and Tessa is shorter and wider :O)

They are all super cute though, huh?

baking cupcakes!!!

Brooklyn has really taken a liking to cooking/baking lately and I have tried to keep her entertained with it. I figure it's better for her to be licking beaters than to be watching TV all day, which is what she prefers most days.

Yummy beaters!!!

Mark's Birthday Celebration...

A week before Mark's birthday we went up to visit and had a blast! They took us to the Tautphaus Zoo in Idaho Falls. I was expecting a small scale petting zoo but it was actually like a "real zoo." They had lions, a tiger, and a cloth bear, Oh my!!! It was really fun for Brooklyn.

My lovely Zach made this picture interesting...

Brooklyn and Grandpa Mark...

The penguins!

Miss Tessa. She stayed in her seat/stroller for about half the time we were there and the rest of the time Grandma Tammy and I took turns holding her. It was a warm day so it was hard to want to carry a mini heater around.

One of the Sloth Bears.
They were really hungry and wanted food so I was lucky to get this picture because right after they went in the corner where they usually get food.

The TIGER!! He didn't want to come out and play.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We had yummy banana splits for dessert and instead of birthday cake. You can tell by Zach's lovely picture how delicious they were!
