Skating

Oh how I love(d) ice skating! I was so excited to get out on the ice this past Saturday and just have fun with my little sisters and show off my “skills.” Well, I haven’t been ice skating in so long I guess I forgot how. We usually go over to Logan and go ice skating for valentine’s day but we missed this year and I think that is the cause for loosing my ability to ice skate.

When we got there Zach was so sweet and was trying to help me out onto the ice because there is a small hill you have to go down to get on the ice. Well bless his little heart, he was holding onto me by my coat when I fell. He kept the coat and my bare back hit the snow… not exactly a good start.

Once I got onto the ice I realized that it wasn’t the same anymore. I couldn’t skate and stay standing for more than 30 seconds. I think I spent more time trying to pick my self up off the ice and on the ice than I did on the skates. I was sad about that, but it was still fun.

I got to watch my dad having fun on the four wheeler plowing the snow off the ice and making little tracks for us skate on, Zach holding onto the back of the four wheeler being pulled around the ice (he didn’t wear skates so this was kind of funny), Jamie chasing Zach, Jade showing her friend Sierra the snow huts, and I loved it. We missed Rachel (she had other plans) and Mom and Brooklyn (it was too cold for the baby and Grandma De was nice enough to stay and watch her).

Maybe next year it’ll be even better!

Brittany, I sure love your little stories. It makes me feel closer to you, and since I don't see you a lot, this is even better. I love you, Grandma Pam
